Turun Kristalli (Crystal of Turku) was founded in 1956 by Gretel and Armas Rantanen. The couple had a strong interest in genuine materials that bring warmth, light ambience to the interior. Appreciation for craftsmanship and the century-old history of crystal lamps led them to establish a crystal lamp workshop in Turku.
The company gradually expanded, and at most, dozens of craft masters conjured up the most magnificent and beaming lamps for people's homes all over Finland. To this day, You can find Turun Kristalli’s lamps in hundreds of Finnish households.
Through determined and passionate work, the company has gradually grown to be a leading manufacturer of crystal lamps in the Nordics. Over the years, more than 150 000 handmade crystal lamps have found their way into homes, public spaces, hotels and cruise ships.
In 2020, the new Turun Kristalli Ltd, also known as Nordic Crystal, was established. Our renewed company's goal is to continue a glorious tradition that has gone on for decades, bringing a sparkly and warm feel with authentic handmade crystal lamps to diverse spaces and occasions around the world.
Our new growth is just beginning, but our heart still throbs to the one and only, original Turku Kristalli. Our company is carried by the idea that we can provide something valuable and permanent amid an accelerating mass culture. And what would be more durable than Nordic Crystal’s lamps and chandeliers made of high-quality crystals and metals, which, if properly cared for, can be inherited from generation to generation.

We make our lamps from pure brass. Our colour options are antique brass, nickel plating, rosé copper, and, in custom orders, 24-carat gold plating.
Our brilliant, sanded, and hand-bonded crystals have a lead content of over 30%, making a stunning, gleaming and genuine sparkle.
